Dominique De Fazio – Film Producer, Director, and one of the world’s most recognized acting teachers, is coming from Los Angeles to Rome to conduct three seminars for actors in July.
is one of the world’s most recognized acting teachers.
A teacher of the Actors Studio (New York), he studied personally with Lee Strasberg for twelve years and taught at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. He was a special guest teacher at Teatro San Martín in Argentina. In Europe, he has taught in France (Institute Européen de l’Acteur), Spain (Centro Dramatico – Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia), Italy (Roma, Milano, Bologna, Parma, Modena, Ravenna), Germany (Schaubühne, Schillertheater, Hamburg Schauspielhaus), and Slovenia.
De Fazio, along with Stella Adler (Group Theatre) and Bobby Lewis (Founder of The Actors Studio) were invited to Le Siecle Stanislavski in Paris to demonstrate new developments in “The Method” in America. De Fazio was the only American invited to the Stanislavski-Brecht International Symposium in Hannover, Germany.
As a Zennist and Daoist, De Fazio developed a comprehensive way to train creative artists that is distinct from “The Method.” First called “The Poetic Theatre” by Spanish critic/playwright Alonso de Santos, The DE FAZIO SYSTEM OF CREATIVE STUDY AND RESEARCH is studied and practiced by professional performing artists from 25 different countries in the world.

Dominique De Fazio has directed plays in New York, Los Angeles, Germany and Italy. For his most recent film in Hollywood, Dancing on a Dry Salt Lake (2013), De Fazio cast actors from the U.S., Italy and Germany.

How to enter the Life of a character intimately and truly, and how to lay the road for the actions of a play or screenplay. Learn a way to read a text that will give you clarity of “what to work on” in your first rehearsal, how to explore, and how to use your authentic self in creating a role.

In this one-evening seminar, Dominique De Fazio will present a Daoistic approach to both training and career-building by which an actor can find abundance of work and life.

INTENSIVE WORKSHOP FOR ACTORS:
“Working from One’s Authenticity”
10 – 14 July 2013
This training workshop will focus on how an actor can create from his/her authentic self, discover truth, and reveal a character. It will include group and personal exercises, qigong preparation, improvisation and scene study. Each participant will work everyday.
This is the only time in 2013 that Dominique De Fazio will be offering a training workshop in Italy.
LANGUAGE
Dominique De Fazio will teach in English. For Italians not fluent in English, or for Germans not fluent in English, a simultaneous translation to important parts of the class will be offered in Italian and German as needed. At the time of enrolment, please tell the Assistant about your fluency in English, and inquire about translation.
